- The Economic Elite: Individuals with wealth
- The Social Elite: Individuals who hold status. Historically church + nobility. Today: media, academics
- The Military
- The Urban Dispossessed: People without economic or social power that live in cities
- The Rural Dispossessed: People without economic or social power that live in rural areas
- The interesting bit for me how they used these factions to categorize internet users (to predict as they call it the “the online culture war”).
